Today is somewhat an interesting day.
Ruder is on off. Surprising for me and to many others too.
With only Daniel around, things will not be as stressful for me =D
The day starts well, I picked up "Today's" newspaper (its free). And there are some interesting articles. 2 caught my attention. One is "E-Class" people, the other is a small quiz that describes 4 groups of people. And I belongs to 3rd and 4th group.
I finished my PC early (one of the lady officer user gave me a Buddisium book "The Purpose of Life" after she found out I copied a Buddha Verse from her Whiteboard, a pleasant lady and devotee) and went over to help Teck Ming out. Happen to flip on a book on "Depression for men". Fits Ruder's description perfectly... just the perfect "gift" for him... heh heh, time for "HUGA SAGA" keke
(a mutation from "HUSAR")Daniel fetches me 2 PCs later, while cloning one, I was also ready to clone another. My first thought, Teck Ming's harddrive. He happens to finish his PCs as well. Since its "ALREADY" lunch time, I let Teck Ming handle one of the PC - I cant finish fast enough anyway.
As we are sitting side by side, we exchange tips. I show Teck Ming some tricks others taught me. One of the trick is to manually reinstate the deleted vadm account, Thanks to Mark I somehow manage to link the 2 events together. Teck Ming teach me iMac tricks too.During lunch, I had 2 bowls of dried chilled Fish Ball Mee, tasted nice, but lips swollen despite 2 bananas (tasted after colded with ice) and 1 melon. The Noodle stall auntie asked if she had mistakenly placed chilli in my noodles as she notice me clearing my sweat frequently while eating. "To try the taste" is my reply.
There are some conversation, Shawn and Gerald had done 8 and 4 PCs, while Teck Ming and I are 5 and 4 respectively. As from my previous chinese "proverbing", Shawn and Gerald matches nicely a "
4 mian 8 fang" (spacious and free) but when they asked me for a proverb with number 4 and 5, I hestitated, for it is "
4 feng 5 liae" (means scattered and ununited - which ironically describe the current team situation :-/), last thing for any team ever. I reply "Better not to mention it".
Gerald innocently seeks the "answer" only to be answered with "Better not to know it" from me...After lunch, I went to a nice place. We are divided into 2 teams and Shawn, who is supposed to be in the other team, somehow tagged with me. Somehow I feel Shawn is like observing my speech and actions... feeling uneasy. While we are doing our PCs (at the same time), the office girls seems to be attacted to me, and they keep looking into my direction... and make me feel all awkward...
but I kinda enjoy the attention as it shows my charm...At end of day, another 6 PCs record. Another round of teasing and "proverbing". As I stated "Six Six Smooth Smooth" yesterday, I quipped that another 6 is necessary to make things really smooth... =P
I thought if one day I got a 9, it shall be "Gu Gu Zi Bai, Mai Hieum Bua Pie". (long long one time, dont hassle not bad)
After work, I board Uncle Yeo's Car as he is nearer to my destination, Clementi. Had some interesting conversation here, with "surname + name" combo. Like "Her Bi Yao" (why the need), then somehow it went on to linked with Ruder's. For they describe he is unable to set at peace without his mouth moving. I was trying to keep comments to myself (Zi Zhi Ke Fou), but Andrew and Uncle Yeo drags me in to use my Chinese proficiency. I thought of "Her Tong Shi" (refers to a always angry and "complaining" wife) though... Ruder a male however.
At the lecture in SIM, it was a tutorial session. I was grouped with a guy call Mark and another "whom I do not know his name", somehow they do know mine. I was kinda irked by Mark for in the past, he had commented baselessly that I am "egoistic" when Mok Wan Mei comment on my shyness (which is indeed the case as I was grouped with Karen, another female) ~ I depicted as a sabourtage attack, since we never talked before then and such debase is unfair to me.
Strike One for Mark. (somewhere last year)This time, in same group we are to tackle a public key exchange protocol known as Scoffham Needle. I decided to play low and tell them that I had no idea what the courseguide was talking about, so at least there can be some room for discussion instead of my direct feed. Mark simply grab the book and start going on with it with his "whom I do not know his name" friend, leaving me totally out of picture.
Oh well, no problem then. I still have my notes. I can study them to refresh my memory. Somehow, I can sense that his friend is glad to welcome me, but Mark isnt, he bares some grudes towards me for watever reason - I can sense that.
After they had finished discussing, they simply return me the book without even asking if I manage to figure out already. Nevermind, maybe they think I knew?
However, during breaktime, I happened to overheard another of Mark's baseless remark "Look so pro all the time for show nia" which is obviously referring to me. Unlike another specticle guy i met in CIS 317, who at least will stay behind to discuss the questions with me - this shows true interest in learning. Mark simply proceed to have his snacks and prefer chit-chat ~ about me and my "uselessness" for sure.
Strike Two for Mark.Anyway, I formulate the entire thing myself during the break, and then proceed to library as usual. I returned late then designed at 2045 than 2030. It doesnt matter anyway, cause Mark keeps brabbling away non-stop and I can hardly concentrate to absorb anything during the tutorial discussion. Somehow his friend notice my "restless" reaction and stop Mark's mouth - he (they?) knew I will "walk away" from NOISY spots in a lecture, as witnessed in CIS320 workshop.
When its my turn to present, I lavish the answer in great techical details, that the lecturer call for me to stop and propose to me a smarter way of answer. Learnt alot in the process and clearer about the exchange protocol.
Mark somehow display weird behaviours and from my count, I notice he "yoaned" quite "forcefully" twice during my presentation, despite the awe I can see from the others. Unfortunately for Mark, after my presentation, the Lecturer proceed to showcase the answers they are suppose to present, silence is what Mark "gets".It seems they cannot believe how I manage to imprint the whole protocol into my "small" brain in a short time of 10 minutes. However, Mark then proceeds to talk non-stop with another guy in another row (not anymore to his friend - I believe that that faithful friend is well-aware of my "pattern" - so do Mark). This display of lack of interest in learning and courtesy irks me greatly.
Strike Three for Mark. Strike Out.
I promptly close my book, tidy my stuffs and walk back to my original seat, away from them, coldy (as such that I act as if they do no exist ~ I was sitting beside Mark a table distance away, Mark is in the mid of 3 of us). I then overheard Mark's friend comment "Look at what you had done, now we lost him." Mark's famous baseless reply? "No choice, people choose to leave."
Man, should had done that earlier. Finally I "return" to the Tutorial Discussion and had a better time. I also learn about a joke on Computer Security = "Secure by Confusion". Also, I manage to learn stufff on legal matters over CS, on Digital Signature on message or the "envelope". Could have miss all those should I endure Mark's sabourtage.
Hopefully some enlightenment can be done, as I had invented while bathing.
"yi chi shuae guai, (1st? You Learnt)
er chi huo kai, (2nd? You deserve)
san chi yin kai." (3rd? You really "earned" it)
Si chi? Zen si Kai Si (4th? Really should die)
